What makes an odd couple, well, odd? It could be a vast age difference, an opposites-attract scenario or just an “ewww” factor that puts them on the list. Heard about the recent Susan Sarandon and Judah Friedlander rumors? Enough said. Here are some of the best odd couples, past and present.

Let’s set aside the 24-year age difference and note that Scarlett just ended her marriage to this Hollywood hunk. Sean just ended his marriage to his partner of more than 20 years.

The lead singer of this band married the supermodel in 1989. An odd couple for sure, no one thought it would last, but it has been 22 years and they have two children together.
Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown
The world scratched its collective head when these two got together. The pop diva and the bad boy got married in 1992 and divorced in 2007, after their well-documented battles with drugs. Whitney re-issued her debut album in 2010.
Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson
They met on the set of this movie in 1992, and their affair led to his divorce. If they didn’t get enough press as an odd couple, Ted Danson showed poor taste at a roast for Goldberg.
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore
They began dating when Ashton was at the height of fame, due in part to this show. Remember his stint on this groovy show. She is 15 years his senior, and they are still going strong after marrying in 2005. Who is her ex?
Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett
More than a few eyebrows went up when the pretty woman was married to this singer from 1993 to 1995. He reportedly penned this famous tune about Julia.
Liza Minnelli and David Gest
This odd couple didn’t just look a little odd. Their spectacle of a wedding cost more than $3.5 million in 2002. All didn’t end well.
Flavor Flav and Brigitte Nielsen
They met on the set of this reality show, whose title was pretty appropriate. The two began an affair on camera, which led to another reality show together before their eventual breakup.

She has run into a few problems with her neighbors.
